VADER entered Hertz Studio in Poland on March 15 to re-record 25 of the best songs from their entire discography for a 25th anniversary release, to be issued in 2008. The set will also include a DVD containing tons of bonus features, such as archival recordings, live shows, video clips and other special material.

Commented frontman Piotr "Peter" Wiwczarek: "Me and Daray [drums] arrived to the Hertz Studio on 15th March to start recordings of an album, which is very special indeed. This is gonna be 25 songs taken from VADER's early records. We [are focusing] mostly on 'The Ultimate Incantation', 'De Profundis', 'Black to the Blind' [and] 'Litany' [albums], [and] also [the] mini albums released in between.

ANGELCORPSE bassist/vocalist Pete Helmkamp has issued the following update:

"As most of you know now, ANGELCORPSE has completed the recording of our fourth full-length album, 'Of Lucifer and Lightning'. Osmose Productions will handle the release of the CD (and limited-edition LP) in Europe, The End will handle things in North America, and Mutilation Productions will take care of South America. We are embarking on a short U.S. East Coast tour in May, with WATAIN and NACHTMYSTIUM in support, as well as numerous other harsh underground acts. I urge anyone interested in the extreme side of metal to attend: outings such as this will prove to be far and few between..."

US death metallers DEEDS OF FLESH have issued the following update via their website:

"Jacoby (Kingston - bass, vocals) has announced his retirement from the band and will be replaced by Erlend Caspersen from Norway."

Jacoby's official statement reads: ""To begin, I want to express my gratitude to all of the Deeds Of Flesh fans and friends out there who have supported me throughout my 14 year tenure as bassist/vocalist for the band. It makes me sad to know that I won't see a lot of you whom I have come to know so well. As for myself, I can no longer live the life of a traveling musician; therefore, I am giving up my position in the band to someone who can put 100% into it and keep the music going strong. I will continue to support the band and help out in any way I can. I still love Death Metal and all things dark and that will not change. This was a hard dicision, but it is for the betterment of Deeds. It would not be fair to my band mates to not put full effort into the music.

According to a flyer that was handed out at HEAVEN AND HELL's concert at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sunday night (March 11), a HEAVEN AND HELL live CD/DVD is being planned for release in the fall. No further details are currently available.

HEAVEN AND HELL — which is made up of BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler, singer Ronnie James Dio, and drummer Vinny Appice (BLACK SABBATH, DIO) — will wrap its Canadian tour on March 28 in Ottawa, featuring opening acts MEGADETH and DOWN. A U.S. trek with support from MEGADETH and MACHINE HEAD will launch April 22 in Phoenix, Arizona.

As previously reported, HEAVEN AND HELL will be the featured guests on the nationally syndicated radio show "Rockline" airing Wednesday, April 11.
